Question 759599: -4x+12y=44
12x+4y=188
find x and y
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-4x+12y=44....1
12x+4y=188....2
Multiply (1) by 3
-12x + 36y = 132 ...3
12x + 4y = 188 ...1
Add (3) + (1)
40y = 320
y = 8
Substitute y = 8 into Eq (1)
-4x + 12y = 44
-4x + 12(8) = 44
-4x + 96 = 44
-4x = 44 - 96
-4x = -52
x = 13
x = 13 y = 8
Hope this helps.
