Question 690429: The sum of two numbers is 15 less than twice the first number. Their difference is 5 less than twice the second number. Find each of the numbers.
I need to find the answer using substitution.
so far, I got
X represents the first number
Y represents the second number
x+y=2x-15
x-y=2y-5
How do i find the x? Well I know the process... but the numbers confuses me...

i just continue ur work, based on second equation, x=2y-5+y, x=3y-5,so subtitude x=3y-5 into first equation. 3y-5+y=2(3y-5)-15,it will be y=-2..if y=-2,then x=3(-2)-5,hence x=-11...sorry if i'm doing wrong.
