x^4 - 10x^2 + 9 = 0
To make it much easier, denote x^2 = y ....
(x^2)^2 - 10(x^2) + 9 = 0
(y)^2 - 10(y) + 9 = 0
y^2 - 10y + 9 = 0
(y - 9)(y - 1) = 0
(x^2 - 9)(x^2 - 1) = 0
(x + 3)(x - 3)(x + 1)(x - 1) = 0
x = -3
x = 3
x = -1
x = 1
