Question 616975: Solve my substitution. 7x+2y= -27 -2x+y=14. I do not understand how to answer this

Solve my substitution.
7x+2y = -27
-2x+y = 14
-----
Solve the lower equation for "y":
y = 2x + 14
------
Substitute for "y" in the upper equation
and solve for "x":
7x + 2(2x+14) = -27
7x + 4x + 28 = -27
11x = -55
x = -5
----------
Solve for "y":
y = 2x + 14
y = 2*-5 + 14
y = 4
----
Solution: (-5,4)
