Find the points of intersection, if any, of the graphs in the system
y^2+4x=0
x+y=0
=============
The 2nd equation gives x = -y
Substitute in the 1st equation:
y^2 - 4y = 0
Factor:
y(y-4) = 0
This gives y=0, y=4
Since x = -y, x=0, x=-4
Ans: (0,0) (-4,4)
Check:
0+0 = 0
4^2 + 4(-4) = 0
