I have no idea how you would solve it. All I can tell you is how I would solve it, but bear in mind that there are at least 3 other equally valid ways to do it.

Add 3 to both sides of the first equation giving you an expression in that is equal to . Substitute this expression in place of in the second equation. You will now have a single variable equation in . Collect terms and solve for .
