Question 559401: a-2b=2
a+b=2(b+3)
solve the system by linear combination method
Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a-2b=2.................(1)
a+b=2(b+3)
a+b=2b+6
a-b=6..................(2)
a-2b= 2
a-b= 6
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -1
Multiply (2) by 2
-a+2b=-2
2a-2b=12
Add the two equations
a = 10
plug value of a in (1)
1 a + -2 b = 2
10 + -2 b = 2
-2 b = 2
-2 b = -8
b = 4.00
