Question 553279: i need help with with my algebra 1 homework.
the problem is m=4n+11 and -6n+8m=36

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1 m -4 n = 11 .............1
8 m -6 n = 36 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -3
Multiply (2) by 2
-3 m 12 n = -33
16 m -12 n = 72
Add the two equations
13 m = 39
/ 13
m = 3
plug value of m in (1)
1 m + -4 n = 11
3 + -4 n = 11
-4 n = 11
-4 n = 8
n = -2
