Question 5146: I think I did this one right
solve by factoring
5x^2-19x+18=0
5x^2-10x-9x+18=0
5x(x-2)-9(x-2)=0
x-2=0 5x-9=0
x=2 x=1/4
is this the correct ans.

I think I did this one right
solve by factoring
5x^2-19x+18=0
5x^2-10x-9x+18=0
5x(x-2)-9(x-2)=0

Factor out the common factor of (x-2)
(x-2)(5x-9)= 0
x-2=0 5x-9=0
The next step is incorrect:
x=2 x=1/4

Where did you get x= 1/4???

Second answer should be:
5x-9 = 0
5x = 9
x= 9/5
