There were 35 nickels, dimes, and silver dollars in the pile, and their value was $12.25. How many coins of each kind were there if there were twice as many silver dollars as nickels?
--------
Equations:
n + d + s = 35
5n +10d+100s = 1225 cents
2n + 0 - s = 0
--------------------
n = 5 (nickels)
d = 20 (dimes)
s = 10 (silver dollars)
