Hi,
2x = y + 11
3y + 7 = -(1/2)x
2x - y = 11
-2x - 12y = -7*-4 |multiplying 2nd EQ thru by -4 to eliminate x
-13y = 39
y = -3 and x = 4 ( x = (y+11)/2
CHECKING our Answer***
3y + 7 = -(1/2)x
-9 + 7 = -2 = -1/2*4
