Answer by John10(297)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The length of a rectangle is fixed at 18 cm. What width will make the perimeter greater than 98cm?
Use the perimeter of the rectangle formula to solve this one!
P = 2(L +W)
If L = 18 cm
Then P = 2(18 + W)
If perimeter is greater than 98 cm, the width must be:
P > 98
2(18 + w)> 98
18 + w > 98/2
18 + w > 49
w > 49 - 18
w > 31
The width must be greater than 31 cm.
Hope it will help! John10
