factor the expression : X^2-2x-24---> (x-6)(x+4)
(x-6)(x+4)=0
x-6=0---> x=6
x+4=0---> x=-4
The answers are: x=6 and x=-4
Or apply the formula in the given expression a=1, b=-2, c=-24
fill in the first formula: x= {-(-2)+ sqrt[(-2)^2 - 4(1)(-24)]}/(2)(1)
x-(2+10)/2--->x=6
fill in the 2nd formula:x= {-(-2)-sqrt[(-2)^2-4(1)(-24)]}/(2)(1)
x= (2-10)/2--->x=-4
