Let x represent the number of student tickets
****Adult tickets (x+100) and tickets for children (x/4)
1000 = x + (x+100) + x/4
4000 = 4x + 4(x+100) + x
4000 = 4x + 4x + 400 + x
4000 = 9x + 400
3600 = 9x
400 = x, the number of student tickets, 500 adult and 100 children tickets
CHECKING our Answer
400 + 500 + 100 = 1000 tickets
