SOLUTION: I have two problems each have three set of equations in them. The first problem is x+y+2z=5 x+y=5 x+3y+z=11 the next problem is 2x+2y+4z=10 3x+3y=15 4x+12y+4z=44. Now I have alread

Question 370589: I have two problems each have three set of equations in them. The first problem is x+y+2z=5 x+y=5 x+3y+z=11 the next problem is 2x+2y+4z=10 3x+3y=15 4x+12y+4z=44. Now I have already solve for x,y,z for both of these problems but my next question was to find the diference between the two systems. Im not quite sure on what to do.
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If you solve both systems, you'll find that the two systems have the same solution.
If you look even more carefully, you'll notice that each equation of the 2nd system is a scaled version of its corresponding equation of the 1st equation. So in this case, the second system is really the first (ie they're the same), but the second is just written a different way.
Note: it's perfectly possible to have two different systems have the same solution.
