x~3+y=0
x~2-y=0 adding these two equations we get
x~3+x~2=0 (the +y & the -y cancel out)
now we factor x~2 out & we have x~2(x+1)=0 x~2=0 or x=0 and x+1=0 or x=-1
substituting -1 for x in both equations we get
(-1)~3+y=0 or -1+y=0 or -1=-y or y=1
(-1)~2-1=0 or 1-y=0 or 1=y therefore x=-1 & y=1
