2x^2+x=42+9x

Answer by nerdybill(7384)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x^2+x=42+9x
moving all the terms to the left:
2x^2-8x=42
2x^2-8x-42=0
dividing both sides by 2:
x^2-4x-21=0
factoring:
(x-7)(x+3) = 0
.
x = {-3, 7}
