Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
solve.
X^2+Y^2=16
Y^2=x+4
----
Substitute for Y^2 and solve for "x":
X^2 + (x+4) = 16
---
x^2 + x - 12 = 0
Factor:
(x+4)(x-3) = 0
x = -4 or x = 3
---
If x = -4, y^2=9, and y = +-3
---
If x = 3, y^2 = 7, and y = +-sqrt(7)

Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
solve.
X^2+Y^2=16
Y^2=x+4
y^2 - x - 4 = 0
----------- subtract 2 from 1
(x+4)*(x-3) = 0
x = -4
y = 0
--> (-4,0)
--------
x = +3
y = +/- sqrt(7)
--> (3,sqrt(7)) & (3,-sqrt(7))
