Question 29641: A cd costs 6 dollars more than an MP3 file. john bought two cd's and three MP3 files for 59.50 dollars. write a system of equations to represent the situation. how much did each CD cost?
Answer by ikdeep(226) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let cost of cd = $c
Let cost of mp3 = $m
according to first condition i.e A cd costs 6 dollars more than an MP3 file..we get the following equstion.....
c - 6 = m .....................(1)
according to second condition i.e two cd's and three MP3 files for 59.50 dollars,....we get the following equstion.....
2c + 3m = 59.50...
By substitution method you can solve further and get the cost of cd...
Still if you won't be able to solve further, contact me again.
hope this will help you.
