4x+3y=29
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If using the elimination method what is the answer to
5x+2y=24
4x+3y=29
-------------------
Let's say you want to eliminate the "y" terms:
Multiply thru the 1st Eq. by 3
Multiply thru the 2nd Eq. by 2
-------------------
15x + 6y = 48
8x + 6y = 58
------------------
Subtract -7x = 10
x = -10/7
----------------
Substitute into the 1st Equation and solve for "y":
5(-10/7) + 2y = 24
(-50/7) + 2y = (168/7)
2y = 218/7
y = 109/7
