x^2 + (2x+1)^2 = 25
x^2 + 4x^2 + 4x + 1 = 25
5x^2 +4x - 24 = 0
x = [-4+-sqrt(16 - 4*5*-24)]/10
---
x = [-4 +- sqrt(496)]/10
---
x = [-4 +- 4sqrt(31)]/10
---
x = [-2+2sqrt(31)]/5 or x = [-2-2sqrt(31)]/5
-----
x = 1.8271 or x = -2.6271
