You can't solve this with the elimination method, or any other method for that matter. You could graph the line represented by the equation, but the solution set still contains and infinite number of elements. The elimination, substitution, and other methods are used to solve SYSTEMS of equations. In this case, because you have two variables, you need another equation to create a solveable system. If you had three variables, you would need three equations, and so on.
