2x-3y=15
y=(2/3)x-10.
am i correct in saying this system is inconsistant?
------------
Putting both in slope-intercept form you get:
y = (2/3)x -5
y = (2/3)x-10
---------------
These are parallel lines because their slopes are the same.
They are different lines because their y-intercepts are different.
---------------
The system is inconsistent because there is no x/y pair that
satisfies both equations.

Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=mx+b If m is the same in both equations and b is different then the equations are inconsistent.
A) 2x-3y=15
B) y=2x/3-10
.
A)
-3y+2x-2x=-2x+15
-3y=-2x+15
-3y/-3=-2x/-3+15/-3
y=2x/3-5
.
m=2 in both equations so they are inconsistant.
