Question 1056369: Systems with three variables (couldn't find the right category sorry)
Solve using elimination:
X+2y=2
2x+3y-z=-9
4x+2y+5z=1
I just need to know how to start it really. TIA!

Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve using elimination:
X+2y=2
2x+3y-z=-9
4x+2y+5z=1
-----
Since the 1st eqn has no z term, eliminate that 1st.

10x+15y-5z=-45 -- 2nd eqn times 5
4x +2y + 5z =1
------------------------ Add
14x + 17y = -44

Now it's 2 eqns in x & y.
Can you do the rest?
