b. If one cubic foot of water weighs approximately 62 pounds, what is the weight, in tons, of one inch of rain over one acre of ground?
c. The weight of one gallon of water is about 8.3 pounds. A rainfall of one inch over one acre of ground means about how many gallons of water?

Since we are dealing in feet, use 1/12 ft for 1 inch
We know that 1 acre has an area of 43,560 sq ft
V = 43560 * 1/12 = 3630 cubic ft

Find the weight in pounds, 3630 * 62 = 225,060 pounds
We know there are 2000 lb in a ton
225060/2000 = 112.53 tons
