Question 876404: What is the surface area of a cylinder whose base has a diameter of
8 inches and whose height is 10 inches?

Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Diameter = 8 ---> Radius = 8/2 = 4

SA = 2*pi*r^2 + 2*pi*r*h

SA = 2*pi*4^2 + 2*pi*4*10

SA = 2*pi*16 + 2*pi*4*10

SA = 2*16*pi + 2*4*10*pi

SA = 32*pi + 80*pi

SA = 112*pi

SA = 112*(3.14)

SA = 351.68

The approximate surface area is 351.68 square inches
