A chord of length 1 cm divides a circle of radius 0.7 cm into two segments. find the area of each segment
my results were 0.390cm^2 for the minor segment and 1.15cm^2 for the major one,, however the final answers in the book are 1.45cm^2 and 13.9cm^2
:
The book has to be wrong.
the total area of the circle = = 1.54 sq/cm
:
Adding your two areas: .39 + 1.15 = 1.54, the total area of the circle
Looks like your answers are right.
