Question 754577: I have to design a kite that has an area of close to 2 square metres. I know that for the kite to fly well then length of one diagonal has to be 2.5 x the length of the other diagonal. How long do I need to make each of the diagonals of this kite?
Help please
Answer by dkppathak(439) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
let length of one diagonal of kite is x meter
and length of another diagonal of kite is 2.5x
area of kite should be 2 square meter
area =1/2 multiplied by both diagonal
1/2 d1 multiplied by d2=2
1.2 multiplied by x multiplied by 2.5x =2
2.5x^2 =4
x^2 =4/2.5=1.6
x= 1.25
one diagonal should be 1.25 m approx
other diagonal should be 1.25 x 2.5= 3.125 m approx
