At the second store, the salesperson says they will lay the same carpet for $3 per square foot. The second salesperson says this is half the price of the first store since everyone knows there are 3 feet per yard. Is the salesperson misleading the customer? Why or why not?

need to change the measurements to the same units
1 yard is indeed 3 foot
so 1 squre yard is the same as 3 square feet which is 3*3
which is 9 foot squared. this cost $18 to lay at the fisrt shop.
each squre foot costs $3 to lay in second shop, so they wouls charge $3 * 9 to lay one squre yard, $27. so they are more expensive, and certainly not half price!
