Question 733991: Hello! Trying to calculate the total surface area of 2 semi-circles. Semicircle #1 is the left half of a semicircle with a radius of 10 feet. Semicircle #2 is the right half of a semicircle with a radius of 5 feet. The 2nd semicircle is positioned on the right side of the first one, at the bottom of the first semicircle. The height is 6 feet. We calculated the lateral surface area and added 2 areas of the base. We're pretty sure we have the bases figured out but are having trouble with the lateral surface area part. We were using the formual Lateral Surface Area = perimeter x height and Total Surface Area formula of LA (lateral surface area) + 2 areas of the base. For perimeter of the semicircles, we used the formula pi*diameter/2. The answer is supposed to be 735.1 sq ft but we can only get to 675.1 sq ft and can't find the other 60 sq ft. Thanks!!!!!
