Question 625727: Cost of Saxony Carpeting The cost of DuPont Stainmaster Saxony carpeting is $5.56 per square foot. This price includes the cost of installation. Determine the cost for Nancy to have this carpeting installed in all three bedrooms.
Bedroom one- 10'X20' and is a rectangle
Bedroom two- 10'X14' and is a square
Bedroom three- 10'X14' and is a square
So what I did was take L*W for each then multiplied my answer by $5.56. Is that correct? For example in bed room one I took 10*20=200*5.56=1112
Please help!

Exactly correct, though you should report your answer to the first one as $1112 (dollars rather than just a number). Also, the other two bedrooms are not squares. You can't have a square that has a length different than the width. Be that as it may, the area formula "length times width" applies to all three.

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
