Question 515620: A circle is drawn on a blueprint so that its circumference is 1088 mm longer than its diameter. Find the diameter of this circle. What is the proper steps on solving this problem. The answer in the back of the book is 508 mm but I can't for the life of me figure the formula on how to break down.
Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
C = pi*d
pi*d = d+1088
pi*d - d = 1088
d*(pi - 1) = 1088
d = 1088/(pi - 1)
d = 508
