Question 394961: Word Problem:
A cylindrical can is closed at both ends and its height is twice its radius. Express its surface area, S, as a function of its radius, r. [Hint: The surface area of a can consists of a rectangle plus two circular disks.]
I guess I'm not sure what the answer they're asking for would be. I know that the surface area of the can would be S=2*pi*r^2+(2*pi*r)(h) but that's about as far as I know to go.

You have done exactly what was asked!
You have expressed S in terms of r.
The right side could be simplified a bit.
