The probability that he'll draw one of these: 

J,A,M,L 

out of these 

A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Y,Z 

is 4 ways out of 26 or a probability of 4/26 or 2/13

[Notice that just because there are two A's in his name, that does not 
change the probability that he will draw an A].

The probability that he'll draw one of these: 

1,3,5,7,9 

out of these 

0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 

is 5 ways out of 10 or a probability of 5/10 or 1/2
