The front of a television has a total area of 320 square inches. The length of the tv is (3x - 2) the width is 16 inches both l and w include a 2 inch border around the picture tube itself. How do you find the area of just the tube?
------------------------
If the width is 16, then the length has to be 20, 320/16.
The front is 20 by 16.
The 2 inch border makes the tube 16 by 12
Area = 192 sq inches.
------------------
I don't see where the (3x - 2) is involved.
