Question 215728: show me the diagonal of a square divided into two triangles each with an are of 18 square centimeters
Answer by checkley77(12844) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x^2/2=18
x^2=2*18
x^2=36
x=sqrt36
x=6 cm. ans. for the length of the sides of the square.
a^2+b^2=c^2
6^2+6^2=c^2
36+36=c^2
72=c^2c=sqrt72
c=8.4853 cm. ans. for the length of the diagonal.
