B(2,12)
C(12,36)
D(36,36)
E(26,10)
the distance formula sqrt (diff in x^2+diff in y^2)
AB is 10
BC is 26
CD is 24
DE is 26
EA is 6 sqrt(10)
This is 86+6 sqrt(10 feet)=104.97 or 105 feet.

I think NEITHER of these 2 people's answers are correct. Since it's stated that each UNIT represents 1 foot, doesn't this mean that: 
A (8, 4) ; B (2, 12) ; C (12, 36) ; D (36, 36) ; E (26,10) is actually:
A (4, 2) ; B (1, 6) ; C (6, 18) ; D (18, 18) ; E (13, 5)
