Question 1133964: An open box with base 14 cm by 18 cm and height 9 cm (external dimensions) is constructed with all four sides and the bottom 2 cm thick. What is the total surface area of this box in square cm?

I believe the thickness of the bottom is irrelevant for surface area.
SA = 14(18) + 2(18)(9) + 2(14)(9)
SA = 828 cm^2
