the perimeter P of a polygon is the distance around the outside of the polygon; means add up the length of all sides
so,
P+=+1.4cm+%2B+6%282.1cm%29+%2B+3%282.8cm%29+%2B+2%283.5cm%29=+1.4cm+%2B+12.6cm+%2B+8.4cm+%2B+7cm+=29.4cm
