A cube of side 10cm is melted down and made into ten identical spheres . Calculate the surface area of one of the spheres
:
find the volume of the cube: 10^3 = 1000 cu/cm
Find the radius of the spheres using the volume formula
10* = 1000
divide both sides by 10
= 100
multiply both sides by 3
4* = 300
divide both sides by 4
= 75

find the cube root
r = 2.88 cm is the radius of the spheres
:
"Calculate the surface area of the 10 spheres"
S.A. = 10(4*pi*2.88^2)
S.A. = 1042.3 sq cm
