Question 1090287: I have to find the area of a strange area. I arrived at the answer shown below. However, my question is can this answer be simplified even more than I have here? Thank you very much.
A = 24 + 9/4pi
Answer by math_helper(2461) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If, for your problem, it is acceptable to present an answer to a certain number of decimal places, then you can multiply out the (9/4)pi and add to 24, then round to the proper number of decimal places. If you must present an exact answer, then the form you've given is as far as you can take it.
—
Don't forget to add the square units to the end of your answer.
—
I'm ignoring trivial manipulations such as re-writing it as (1/4)(96 + 9pi), etc. and
obviously I can not speak to the correctness of the value you have given, just its form.
