Answer by fractalier(6550)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The volume of a cone is given by

Plugging in we get

Now solve for r and then double it to get diameter...so we get
240 = r^2*5
48 = r^2
r = 6.93 inches so that
d = 13.9 inches

Answer by Boreal(15235)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Volume of a cone is (1/3)*pi*r^2h
That equals 80 pi
80=(1/3)*r^2 h
240 =r^2h
48=r^2
r=4sqrt(3)
diameter is 8 sqrt(3) inches or 13.86 inches.
