Question 1032062: A student says that a cube with side lengths of 5in.has a surface area of 150 in, or 12.5ft. Explain the student's error. Give the correct answer
Answer by LinnW(1048) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The surface area of each face is 5*5 = 25
There are 6 faces, so the surface area is 6*25 = 150 in^2
But 1 square foot = 12*12 = 144 square inches,
so the 150 in^2 is 150/144 ft^2
