Question 1020783: The crater of a volcano is approximately in the shape of a cone of base 2 square km. If the crater's depth is 1km, what is the volume of the filling materials would be required to fill this cavity?

Hi there,
If you consider the volcano
as a pyramid.
Volume = 1/3 Base area x height
Volume = 1/3 x 2 x 1
Volume = 0.67 km^3
This is the quantity of
material required to fill it.
Hope this helps :-)
