Question 934866: Given that set A has 15 elements& set B has 15 ,what is the maximum & minimum possible number of elements in AUB & AnB
Answer by srinivas.g(540)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
n(A)=15
n(B)=15
n(AUB) =n(A)+n(B)-n(A n B)
n(AUB) can be maximum when n(AnB) is zero
so max value of n(AUB) =15+15-0
=30
n(AUB) can be minimum when n(AnB) is maximum.that means n(AnB) =15
min n(AUB)=15+15-15
=15
n(AnB) is minimum when n(AUB) is maximum and n(AnB) is maximum when n(AUB) is minimum. .
hence max n(AnB)=15
min n(AnB)=0
