Question 1158798: Given that
U={1,2,3,...,18,19,20}
A={2,3,4,6,7,10,11,13,18}
B={1,3,7,8,9,11,12,13,14,15,18,19,20}
C={1,2,5,6,8,12,14,15,18,19,20}
LIST the elements in each of the following sets:
(AUB)^C={5,16,17}
(A∩C)^C=

The symbols used are not clear....

In "(AUB)^C", I would assume "U" to represent a union of sets -- but "U" is used in the problem to denote the universal set. So there is some confusion there -- although if U is the universal set then "AUB" would have no meaning....

Also in that same expression, the "^" seems to be used as the symbol for an intersection of sets -- but you use "∩" later to indicate an intersection. So I have no idea what the "^" represents.

And the statement that "(AUB)^C={5,16,17}" doesn't help to determine what the symbols mean, because I don't see any way to get the set {5,16,17} from the given sets A, B, and C.

Re-post making the problem clear if you want help with it.
