Question 102399: Good Evening Tutor,
I need to check my answers for these two problems could you tell me if I have them correct?
1. Simplify 2 sqrt of 12 + 4 sqrt of 27
I have 2 sqrt of 39 (correct?)
2.) Simplify 6 sqrt of 2 - 6 sqrt of 7

Question 101671: Tutor,
Could you please check my answer and let me know if I have this answer correct?
Find length x in each triangle. Express your answer in simplified radical form.
longest side is 12, next side is x and botton and smallest side is 8
I got x = sqrt of 80
That seems off to me I am not sure I solved this correctly so I would appreciate your help.
Thank you very much for your help.

Question 103300: I have two problems. I worked part of one but cannot get it finished and don't know why. It is
-16t^2 + 112t = 120
-16t^2 + 112t - 120 = 0
t=(-112±√(〖112〗^2-4∙(-16)∙(-120) ))/(2∙(-16) )
t=(-112±√(12544-7680))/(-32)
t= (-112±√4864)/(-32)
And the other is Find the distance between (–4, 0) and (–5, –3)I put...
-5+(-4)=-9
-3+0=-3
-9^2+-3^2=h^2
81+9=h^2
h=sqrt90
h=sqrt9*10
h=3sqrt10
Where did I go wrong????

Question 103816: I hope I am in the right topic area. I need to figure out this problem and it has to be solved using the square root property. Can someone please help?
2x^2 - 35 = 15
further directions from my Professor are as follows:
Make sure that your work is demonstrating the solving method given in the instructions. Use the Insert and Symbols menus in Word to present the radical √ and plus/minus ± symbols. Remember that radicands must be enclosed within [ ]. Typing your work vertically is preferred but optional. If you choose to type horizontally, make sure you are appropriately using grouping symbols.
Thank You very Much!

Question 104663: x-2*sqrt(x-3)=3
solve for zero...
I subtract x from both sides which =
-2*sqrt(x-3)=3-x
then I divide by -2 from both sides
sqrt(x-3)=(3-x)/-2
then to get rid of the "sqrt" ^2 on both sides
x-3=(9+x^2)/4
then I subtract "x" and add 3 to both sides to solve for zero.
0=(9+x^2)/4-x+3
then I find a common denominator of 4 and solve
0=(9+x^2)/4 -4x/4+12/4 which equals 0=(x^2-4x+21)/4
then I multiply 4/1 on both side the loose the denominator.
0=x^2-4x+21 which can not be factored, but my text book gives a solution set of {7,3}. I cant find were I went wrong, please help
