Too imprecise. Are the "2" supposed to be factors, subscripts, or exponents?

X/y = sqrt[v2/U2]

Expecting exponents for those, then use plain text this way:
X/y=sqrt(v^2/U^2)

then the rendering tags will give the correct appearance:
