Question 793258: How do you add square roots? sqrt of x+3 + sqrt of 6-x ?
Answer by fcabanski(1391) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You cannot add the square roots of different expressions/values/variables. Treat as a variable. You cannot add the variables x and y. You can add x and x: x+x=2x. You can only add square roots (or any roots) if what is inside them is the same.
x+3 does not equal x+6.
