Question 776248: solve by elimination method
8x-y=0
x+5y=41
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8x - y = 0....1
x + 5y = 41....2
Multiply (1) by 5
40x - 5y = 0....3
x + 5y = 41....2
Add (3) + (2) together
41x = 41
x = 1
Substitute x = 1 in (2)
x + 5y = 41
1 + 5y = 41
5y = 41 - 1
5y = 40
y = 8
{1, 8}
Hope this helps.
